Abbreviations and Special Stitches:

Beginning Puff Stitch (beg puff) – Ch 1, [yo, insert hook into stitch or space indicated, pull up a loop the height of a dc] 2 times, yo, pull through all 5 loops on hook, ch 1 to lock.

Puff Stitch (puff) – [Yo, insert hook into stitch or space indicated, pull up a loop the height of a dc] 3 times, yo, pull through all 7 loops on hook, ch 1 to lock.

Back Post Double Crochet (bpdc) – Yo, insert hook from back to front around the post of stitch indicated, pull up a loop, [yo, draw through two loops on hook] 2 times.

Back Loop Only (BLO) – This is the stitch farthest away from you regardless of whether you are working on the right side or the wrong side of your piece.

Pattern Notes:

All stitches are worked through both loops unless otherwise noted.

Instructions

Rnd 1: With color A, form an adjustable ring, beg puff, [ch 1, puff] 5 times, ch 1, sl st to top of beg puff. (6 puffs, 6 ch-1 sps)

Rnd 2: Sl st in next ch-1 sp, beg puff, ch 1, puff in same sp, [(ch 1, puff) 2 times in next ch-1 sp] 5 times, ch 1, sl st to top of beg puff, fasten off. (12 puff, 12 ch-1 sps)

Rnd 3: Join color B with a sc in any ch-1 sp, [ch 2, sc in next ch-1 sp] 11 times, ch 2, sl st to beg sc, fasten off. (12 sc, 12 ch-2 sps)

Rnd 4: Join color C with a sl st in any ch-2 sp, ch 6 (as tr, ch-2), (tr, dc) in same sp, *(dc, 2 hdc) in next ch-2 sp, (2 hdc, dc) in next ch-2 sp, ** corner as (dc, tr, ch 2, tr, dc)* rep from * to * 3 times ending at ** on final rep, dc in same sp as beg ch-6, sl st to 4th ch of beg ch-6, fasten off. (8 tr, 16 dc, 16 hdc, 4 ch-2 sps)

Rnd 5: Join color A with a sl st in any corner ch-2 sp, ch 5 (as dc, ch 2), 2 dc in same sp, *dc in next 10 sts, ** corner as (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner ch-3 sp,* rep from * to * 3 times ending at ** on final rep, dc in same sp as beg ch-5, sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch-5, fasten off. (56 dc, 4 ch-2 sps)

Rnd 6: Join color B with a sl st in any corner ch-2 sp, ch 4 (as tr), 2 dc in same sp, * bpdc around next 14 sts, ** corner as (2 dc, tr, 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp,* rep from * to * 3 times ending at ** on final rep, 2 dc in same sp as beg ch-4, sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch-4, fasten off. (4 tr, 16 dc, 56 bpdc)

Rnd 7: Join color C with a sc in any corner tr, 2 sc in same st, * sc in next 2 sts, sc in BLO of next 14 sts, sc in next 2 sts ** corner as 3 sc in next tr,* rep from * to * 3 times ending at ** on final rep, invisible join, to fasten off. (84 sc)

Finishing:

Weave in any remaining ends. Block according to yarn contents.
