Color A: sun drift – 5 yds (2.5g)

Color B: colonial beige – 11 yds (5.5g)

Color C: sage – 14 yds (7g)

Color D: porcelain red – 17 yds (8.5g)

Color E: incense – 23 yds (11.5g)

Color F: stone brown – 75 yds (38g)

Crochet Hook:

US Size 8/H (5.0)

Finished Measurements:

12”X12” block

This block is easily adapted to any size. Simply end bullion Rnds approx. 1 ¾” before reaching desired size. Then, work final two rnds in the same fashion as Rnds 7 & 8.

Gauge:

Through Rnd 2 = 4”

Abbreviations and Special Stitches:

Bullion (BN#) – Yo amount indicated by number following “BN” insert hook into stitch indicated, yo, draw up a loop, yo, pull through all loops on hook, yo, pull through loop to close. For further help, see the video at You Tube Bullion Video or the writtenPhoto Bullion Tutorial.

Front Post Double Crochet (fpdc) – Inserting hook from front to back, dc around post of stitch indicated.

Pattern Notes:

All stitches are worked through both loops unless otherwise noted.

For a neater appearance, use an invisible join in place of the sl st at the end of each Rnd to fasten off.

Instructions

With color A, ch 8, sl st in 8th ch from hook to form a ring.

Rnd 1:  Ch 3 (does not count as stitch), 2 BN-8 in ring, [ch 3, 3 BN-8 in ring] 3 times, ch 3 BN-8 in ring, sl st to beg BN, fasten off. (12 BN-8, 4 ch-3 sps)

Rnd 2: Join color B with a sl st in any corner ch-3 sp, ch 3, (2 BN-8, ch 3, 3 BN-8) in same sp, *ch 1, ** (3 BN-8, ch 3,

3 BN-8) in next ch-3 sp,* rep from * to * 3 times ending at ** on final rep, BN-8 in same sp as beg ch-3, sl st to beg BN, fasten off. (24 BN-8, 4 ch-3 sps, 4 ch-1 sps)

Rnd 3: Join color C with a sl st in any corner ch-3 sp, ch 3, (2 BN-8, ch 3, 3 BN-8) in same sp, *ch 1, 3 BN-8 in next ch-1 sp, ch 1 ** (3 BN-8, ch 3, 3 BN-8) in next ch-3 sp,* rep from * to * 3 times ending at ** on final rep, BN-8 in same sp as beg ch-3, sl st to beg BN, fasten off. (36 BN-8, 4 ch-3 sps, 8 ch-1 sps)

Rnd 4: Join color D with a sl st in any corner ch-3 sp, ch 3, (2 BN-8, ch 3, 3 BN-8) in same sp, *[ch 1, 3 BN-8 in next ch-1 sp] 2 times, ch 1 ** (3 BN-8, ch 3, 3 BN-8) in next ch-3 sp,* rep from * to * 3 times ending at ** on final rep, BN-8 in same sp as beg ch-3, sl st to beg BN, fasten off. (48 BN-8, 4 ch-3 sps, 12 ch-1 sps)

Rnd 5: Join color E with a sl st in any corner ch-3 sp, ch 3, (2 BN-8, ch 3, 3 BN-8) in same sp, *[ch 1, 3 BN-8 in next ch-1 sp] 3 times, ch 1 ** (3 BN-8, ch 3, 3 BN-8) in next ch-3 sp,* rep from * to * 3 times ending at ** on final rep, BN-8 in same sp as beg ch-3, sl st to beg BN, fasten off. (60 BN-8, 4 ch-3 sps, 16 ch-1 sps)

Rnd 6: Join color F with a sl st in any corner ch-3 sp, ch 3, (2 BN-8, ch 3, 3 BN-8) in same sp, *[ch 1, 3 BN-8 in next ch-1 sp] 4 times, ch 1 ** (3 BN-8, ch 3, 3 BN-8) in next ch-3 sp,* rep from * to * 3 times ending at ** on final rep, BN-8 in same sp as beg ch-3, sl st to beg BN, DO NOT fasten off. (72 BN-8, 4 ch-3 sps, 20 ch-1 sps)

Rnd 7: Ch 3 (does not count as st), fpdc around same BN, fpdc around next BN, *corner as (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc), [fpdc around next 3 BN, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp] 5 times, ** fpdc around next 3 BN* rep from * to * 3 times ending at ** on final rep, fpdc around next BN, sl st to top of first fpdc. (72 fpdc, 84 dc, 4 ch-2 sps)

Rnd 8: Ch 2 (as hdc), hdc in next 4 sts, *corner as (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc),** hdc in next 39 sts* rep from * to * 3 times ending at ** on final rep, hdc in next 34 sts, sl st to beg hdc, fasten off. (172 hdc, 4 ch-2 sps)

Finishing:

Weave in any remaining ends. Block according to yarn contents.
